Our Story

Years ago, our church offered to pay for our hotel and gas if we attended a prayer conference in Tennessee called “Quiet Waters.” It seemed like a no-brainer – a free mini vacation! So off we went. What we found was quite different than our normal church experience. The host church, Two Rivers EFC, was the same denomination I grew up in. In fact, I was serving in an Evangelical Free Church at the time. But this church was serious about prayer! In fact, they prayed for people to be healed right there in front of everyone! And they talked a lot about hearing God’s voice in prayer. We were so intrigued, that we ended up asking a lot of questions. We were stretched, but we were also really excited. It started us on a life changing journey – one that may have touched your life as well – because there would be no Deep Rivers Church without a Two Rivers Church.

On Sunday, I (Pastor Matt) forgot to make an important announcement about a trip to Tennessee on March 26-27, that everyone is invited to, to attend Quiet Waters. Quiet Waters is a prayer retreat with the goal of coming into the presence of God and staying there with Him. The retreat begins Thursday evening and continues all day Friday. We will leave early from PA on Thursday morning, and carpool down together. We will be glad to help line up a ride for those who prefer not to drive. You can book a hotel room, reserve an Airbnb, or stay with a family that attends the host church. We plan to leave TN early Saturday morning. You will be gone for three full days.
