Why Do We Value Prayer So Much?

DRC Prays! We’re starting off the new year with great news AND a great challenge.
The Great News: We’re renting the Brethren in Christ church building at 200 S. Hanover St. in Hummelstown! We were there for Thanksgiving Eve and Christmas Eve, and now we can be there for many more activities and events throughout the year.
The Great Challenge: We’re starting off the New Year with a “DRC Prays!” emphasis. We only get one chance to move into a new building – so we want to dedicate this new ministry space with a “40 Days of Prayer Challenge.” We are looking for volunteers to pray for one hour a day in the new building – for the first 40 days of 2020.
The available timeslots are Monday–Saturday from 6:00-8:00 a.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. To set up a time to pray in one of these timeslots, text Matt at (717) 673-9205 (men) or Nicole at (717) 673-9204 (women) to set up a time.
Please let us know what time and day works best for you and we will meet you there. We prefer no one is praying alone in the building. We also have plenty of “prompts” available to help you pray. An hour is a long time, but we can give you some guidance and structure to help the time go by much faster than you think.
Impact Team Meeting: If you are on an impact team, we ask you to attend a planning meeting at 200 S. Hanover St. on Saturday, January 18. The Team Leads will meet at 4pm and all Team Members will meet and eat at 5:30pm. This is a potluck so please bring a meal, side, or dessert item to share.
Winter Fling: We are serving the community of Hummelstown during Winter Fling with cookies! We will hand out cookies on Friday, January 24 from 7-9:30. We are asking you to help by handing out cookies during Winter Fling or by providing cookies to hand out. We would like 250 bags with two cookies each. We also need help setting up at 6:30pm and tearing down at 9:30pm. Please sign up to help at the Welcome table.
