What Jesus says to us in Luke about Loyalty
A Weekly “Front End” Addendum before the Message
In Exodus 40:34-35, Moses could not enter the tabernacle because the Holy Spirit filled it like a cloud.
In 2 Chronicles 7:1, the Holy Spirit appeared in Solomon’s temple as fire and as a “glorious presence.”
1 Corinthians 6:19-20, says “your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who lives in you … given to you by God.”
As followers of Jesus, how do we live out of our “temple-ness?”
This sermon on loyalty is an answer to that question. Our loyalty (our commitment, our behavior) does not enable His indwelling presence in us (our active faith and our trust in the cross does that). And because we are already “holy temples” we need to know how to live in response to this truth.
What does loyalty and commitment look like, because of our forgiveness, and not as a way to gain?

Matt Given is the Lead Pastor of Deep Rivers Church (DRC) in Hummelstown, PA. which he planted with his wife Nicole and an amazing team of volunteers in 2018. They have three adult children and one very active mini golden-doodle.
In January of 2017 after a month long fast, Matt and Nicole responded to an ongoing call on their lives to plant a church that was Word based and Spirit led. Being profoundly impacted through the ministry of a similar Word & Spirit church, the Givens desire is that all would know and experience the love of Father God, walking in deep fellowship with Him through His Spirit, because of Jesus, hearing His Voice, and joyfully expecting God to be exactly who He says He is.
