Children (Birth – Elementary)

Our Mission

Deep Rivers KIDS exists to come alongside children and parents at Deep Rivers Church in discovering that we are loved by God, empowered by His Spirit, and sent for the freedom and joy of all.

Our Ministry

Children who come to Deep Rivers Church will join in corporate worship for their first portion of time at Deep Rivers. We believe children can benefit greatly from worshiping alongside families and adults in experiencing and observing. We also believe children play a role in providing encouragement, joy and freedom in the corporate worship gathering.

We have a designated area in the Worship Center with ribbons and space to allow children to worship in freedom. Families are encouraged to worship in this area together. A children’s ministry volunteer will be stationed in this area to aid in directing worship movements and guiding the children as needed.

Then at a designated time in the service children will move to classrooms for age-appropriate Bible teaching, prayer time and worship-themed activities.

Our Promise

Deep Rivers KIDS will provide a safe environment for all children that attend. All Children’s Ministry Team members have background check and child abuse clearances completed before they are able to serve in any Children’s Ministry classrooms. All Children’s Ministry Team members have been trained and briefed in all Children’s Ministry safety and room procedures before serving in classrooms. A security tag check-in system is used to ensure children are picked up securely.

Please email our Children’s Ministry Director, Angie Mouer, with any questions you may have about Deep Rivers KIDS.

We have a designated area in the back of the Worship Center for babies and toddlers (up to age 2) to interact with and play during our Gathering while being supervised by a parent or guardian. This allows the parent or guardian to remain connected to our Gathering in the Worship Center, while their young children play and interact in this space. A changing pad and supplies are also available in this area for your convenience.

The Wonder Room provides a place for children to experience God’s love and wonder at who God is and how they can be in relationship with Him. We accomplish this by:

  • Memorizing simple scriptures passages. This allows children to begin hiding God’s word in their hearts to use in a life of relationship with Him and listening to His voice.
  • Having an interactive/visual/hands-on time centered around God’s Word to discover more of who God is and His love for us and who we are as His children.
  • Providing opportunities for children to join in relationship with God through Jesus Christ if they have never made this commitment.
  • Providing opportunities before, throughout and after the lesson for prayer. Pray by example using various types of prayers such as invocation/guidance, adoration, confession, thanksgiving, petition/intercession and blessing. Allow opportunity for children to pray in these ways as well.
  • Making space for children to practice spending individual time with God - whether in individual worship, prayer (listening prayer), etc.

The Discovery Room provides a place for children to experience God’s love, observe and practice how they are empowered by His Spirit through a relationship with Him in Jesus Christ, and begin to discover and practice how to share their freedom and joy with others. We accomplish this by:

  • Memorizing scripture passages. This allows for children to begin hiding God’s Word in their hearts to use in a life of relationship with Him and listening to His voice.
  • Having an interactive/visual/hands-on time centered around God’s word to discover more of who God is and His love for us and who we are as His children.
  • Provide opportunities for children to join in relationship with God through Jesus Christ if they have never made this commitment.
  • Providing opportunities before, throughout and after the lesson for prayer. Pray by example using various types of prayers such as invocation/guidance, adoration, confession, thanksgiving, petition/intercession and blessing. Leaders will model these but give opportunity for children to pray also.
  • Making space for children to practice spending individual time with God - whether in individual worship, prayer (listening prayer), etc.
  • Giving opportunities for children to be encouraged through God’s voice speaking to them as well as giving them opportunities for them to encourage others as they listen to what God wants them to share with others.
